CAN BREATHING PRACTICES INCREASE OUR LONGETIVITY AND HOW?
I would like to share with you a paragraph that was published on The New York Times October 8, 2002 issue, which was written by Lawrence K. Altman.
‘’Your healthy cells are instructed to kill themselves. Apoptosis, or programmed cell death is necessary for proper tissue and organ development. Your body uses cell suicide in immune cell development and function and for removing your unnecessary or damaged cells. ‘’Malfunction’’ of your cell-death genes resulting in excessive apoptosis is a hallmark of a number of diseases. Some autoimmune diseases and cancer are characterized by a reduction in your cell death. Your cell death is necessary for your embryonic development and brain deveoplment. You as an embryo and fetus produced a huge number of cells. But even you as an adult human forms more than a thousand billion cells each day. As your cells are created, an equal number of your cells die through cell suicide, both in your fetal stage and in yoru adult. Maintaining the appropriate number of cells in your tissues requires a fine-tuned balance between cell divine and cell death.”
As you can see, dying human cells due to apoptosis play a vital role in the regulation of birthing sister cells through mitotic growth. All cells age. When they stop growing, they eventually die. So called ‘’harmful waste’’ products build up in all cells during their life causing them to age, but these ‘’toxic’’ cells in turn can produce new rejuvenated daughter cells by asymmetric cell divisions in which one cell receives most of the waste products and is doomed, while other is wiped clean and remains alive.
And for all of this to happen, a healthy, natural breathing habit is very important. People usually HOLD ON TO THEIR EXHALES, this is a way people hold own to the past and stay in fight or flight reflex. And when this happens, because the body is in an alarm state, we start controlling the exhales, controlling our breath and interrupt the apoptosis process. The reason why people grow old and age fast is not because they are not breathing deep, it is because they do not have relaxed exhales. Most people are HOLDING ON TO LIFE TOO MUCH, WHICH IS WHY THEY GET OLD. Apoptosis process gets interrupted when your breathing is nor relaxed.
